Terms and Conditions

About Advice For Life 

Advice For Life is an advice and support service provided by Global Social Innovators CIC (“we”, “us”, “our”). We aim to help people navigate everyday life issues such as benefits, housing, employment, and debt by providing accessible, practical guidance and support. 

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply only where you choose to access Advice For Life support through a paid subscription (“Subscription Service”). 

  

  1. The AdviceForLife Subscription Service 

1.1 What we provide 

Advice For Life provides general guidance and practical support to help individuals make informed decisions about everyday life issues (“Advice For Life Support”). 

Some of this support is made available through our Subscription Service, which offers ongoing access to guidance and support as described on our website. The scope and features of the Subscription Service may change from time to time to reflect user needs, funding arrangements, or service improvements. 

Accessing Advice For Life support via subscription does not prevent us from also offering: 

  • free information or resources; 
  • signposting; 
  • funded or commissioned support through partners; or 
  • alternative access routes where available. 

1.2 What we do not provide 

Advice For Life provides information, guidance and practical support only. We are not solicitors, medical professionals, or regulated financial advisers. 

The Subscription Service does not replace professional legal, medical or financial advice where this is required. Where appropriate, we may suggest or signpost to specialist organisations or regulated professionals. 

  

  1. Eligibility and account information

2.1 Age requirement 

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a subscription. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must purchase the subscription and be involved in use of the Service. 

2.2 Accurate information 

You are responsible for ensuring that information provided during registration and use of the Subscription Service is accurate, complete and kept up to date. 

  

  1. Subscription plans,billingand payments 

3.1 Plans and pricing 

Subscription options (monthly or annual), pricing and features are shown clearly at checkout. Prices are charged in GBP (£). 

3.2 Payment processing 

Payments are processed securely via PayPal, Stripe and any other payment providers we may make available. These providers apply their own terms and privacy policies. 

3.3 Autorenewal 

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled. 
By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis. 

3.4 Taxes 

Prices may include applicable taxes depending on your location and the nature of the supply. 

3.5 Payment confirmation 

You will receive an email confirmation after successful payment. 

3.6 Free trials and introductory offers (where offered) 

Where free trials or introductory pricing are offered, full details will be displayed at sign‑up, including: 

  • the length of the offer; 
  • when billing begins; and 
  • the price that will apply after the offer ends. 

Unless cancelled before the offer period ends, the subscription will convert to a paid subscription at the stated price. 

  

  1. Cancellation rights and refunds

4.1 How to cancel 

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at 
advice@globalsocialinnovators.org.uk 

Unless cancelled during the Cooling‑Off Period (see 4.2), access normally continues until the end of the current billing period. 

4.2 Your 14day right to cancel (CoolingOff Period) 

If you are a consumer purchasing online or at a distance, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days from the day after the contract begins, without giving a reason. 

If you request that the Subscription Service begins during this period, you acknowledge that: 

  • we may charge for the proportion of the Service used up to cancellation; and 
  • if the Service is fully delivered during this period, your right to cancel may be lost. 

4.3 Refunds 

Where a refund is due under the Cooling‑Off Period or required by law, it will be issued via the original payment method and within statutory timeframes. 

Outside the Cooling‑Off Period, we do not normally offer refunds for unused subscription time unless required by law or otherwise agreed. 

  

  1. Discounts and concessionary offers

5.1 Availability 

Discounts or reduced‑price subscriptions may be offered from time to time, including for particular groups or through partner organisations. Eligibility criteria and duration will be clearly explained. 

5.2 Verification 

Where eligibility applies, we may request reasonable evidence. If eligibility cannot be confirmed, we will notify you before any change to pricing or access. 

  

  1. Changes to fees and these Terms

6.1 Changes to subscription fees 

If subscription fees change, we will give at least 30 days’ notice. You may cancel before any new price takes effect. 

6.2 Changes to these Terms 

We may update these Terms occasionally. Significant changes will be communicated in advance. Continued use of the Subscription Service after changes take effect indicates acceptance. 

  

  1. Use of the Subscription Service

7.1 Personal use 

Subscriptions are for personal use only and must not be shared or used for commercial purposes. 

7.2 Misuse 

You must not: 

  • share login details; 
  • use the Subscription Service unlawfully; or 
  • interfere with or attempt to misuse the Service. 

We may suspend or terminate access where these Terms are breached. 

  

  1. Intellectual property

All content, branding and materials used in Advice For Life are owned by or licensed to us and may not be reused without written permission. 

  

  1. Disclaimers and liability

9.1 Service quality 

We aim to provide clear, accurate and helpful guidance, delivered with reasonable care and skill. We cannot guarantee specific outcomes. 

9.2 Your legal rights 

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights under UK consumer law. 

9.3 Limitation of liability 

Where permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. We do not exclude liability where this would be unlawful. 

9.4 Events outside our control 

We are not responsible for delays or interruptions caused by events beyond our reasonable control. 

9.5 Confidentiality 

Information shared with us will be treated confidentially and handled in line with our Privacy Policy.

  1. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
